This is a followup guest post by Balz (part 1 can be found here: President’s Day on the Bay.)
When I checked my messages on Saturday morning, the last thing I expected to hear was an invitation from my friend Unit to go boating in the Bay.
“Isn’t this February?!†I thought to myself. “Is The Unit [...]

Last Sunday (ok the day before President’s Day) a few friends and I arranged a day cruise/fishing trip on the bay. We didn’t have a planned itinerary, but I think you will see the day turned out pretty nice.
It started for me at 8:30am leaving my house, picking up the boat from storage, gassing the [...]

February 1st, 2008 — , Richardson Bay, San Francisco Bay from SFBoater @ SF Boater
The spill occurred in Richardson Bay between 5:30 and 8:30 this morning (2/1/08). It is thought that the sewage did not contain chlorine which is used to treat sewage. They currently do not know how the spill occurred. Do not come into contact with the water. There is a picture of the spill at abc7news: [...]

Evening Tour of The South West Bay
November 16th, 2007 — Coyote Point, Day Cruise, Oyster Point, San Francisco Bay from SFBoater @ SF Boater
I took the boat out for an evening cruise last night with a friend. We launched at Coyote Point cruised to Oyster Point and then came back.
It was a little windy as the fog was rolling in, so on the way to Oyster Point we had to take it slow. The way back was nicer.

SF Bay Oil Spill
November 10th, 2007 — San Francisco Bay, politics from SFBoater @ SF Boater
I am deeply saddened by the recent oil spill in the bay when a container ship struck the Bay Bridge. 58,000 gallons of oil were released. With the winds and the tides the oil is as far as Farallon Islands… what a shame.
They have been cleaning birds and skimming oil for several days.
Thanks to all the [...]
Fishing Trips This Weekend
October 17th, 2007 — Coyote Point, Fishing, Oyster Point, San Francisco Bay from SFBoater @ SF Boater
I went fishing on both Saturday and Sunday this past weekend. In both cases I was fishing between Oyster Point and the San Mateo Bridge.
On Saturday I used freeze dried bait from Big 5 without success.
On Sunday I used frozen and live bait and caught several soupfin sharks.
I had a great time on the water.

September 29th, 2007 — Day Cruise, Giants, Oyster Point, San Francisco Bay from SFBoater @ SF Boater

Oyster Point Fishing 9/23/2007
September 24th, 2007 — Fishing, Oyster Point, San Francisco Bay from SFBoater @ SF Boater
This morning I went fishing off Oyster Point. Again they were out of live bait, so I went with frozen anchovies. I was only able to spend a couple of hours…
It was a glorious morning. Dead calm. Incoming tide.
Was using a standard 1/0 halibut rig. I started on my 20lb test spinning rigs and caught several [...]
